EPAZ Environmental Scholarship Program

Encouraging students who have invested their future in the environment, EPAZ awards over $10,000 each year to graduate and undergraduate students in environmental programs in Arizona.  EPAZ also hosts a Student Poster Competition each year (learn more).

To qualify for the 2024 Scholarship, you must:
  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student in an Arizona environmental program.
  • Be pursuing a career in the environmental field.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and making satisfactory progress.
  • Be a full or part-time student for the 2023-2024 academic year in an Arizona Environmental Program.

(Please note that if you are not currently enrolled in an academic program then you will need to wait and apply for this scholarship opportunity once you have been enrolled in the eligible program.  Applications are accepted each year starting in September.)

If you meet these qualifications, complete the online application by January 8, 2024.

The scholarship application will require the following questions to be answered in essay form within a limit of two pages.  NOTE:  You do NOT need to be a member of EPAZ to apply for the scholarship.

  1. What specific environmental areas are you most interested in and why?
  2. Why are you interested in pursuing a career in the environmental area?
  3. How do you plan to benefit the Arizona environment with your education/career?
  4. Describe any environmental experience you have, e.g. volunteer work, jobs, etc.

The online application requires contact information for two references and you will be required to upload the following documents:

  • Letter of Recommendation from two references
  • Academic Transcript
  • Essay

Scholarships include a complimentary one year EPAZ membership, including free attendance at the Annual EPAZ Conference and free monthly luncheon meetings. (Winners are invited to participate.)

Our Scholarship & Educational Outreach Committee will contact the winners before March 1, 2024.  Scholarship Awards will be presented during our annual conference to be held February 26-27, 2024 at the Doubletree by Hilton located at 2100 South Priest Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282.
