12:00 to 1:00 PM WEBINAR Presentation

Sustainability

presented by Eric Massey, Director of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Policy & Reporting,  Arizona Public Service

Eric Massey is the Director of Sustainability for Arizona Public Service and will be speaking about APS’s commitment to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050, the pathways and actions required to achieve that objective, and what the company is doing now to make its long term vision a reality.

Eric's primary responsibilities at APS include oversight and implementation of the company’s sustainability program, including participation in the development of, and on-going responsibility to support, APS’s commitment to achieve 100% clean, carbon free generation by 2050. Previous to his current capacity at APS, he served as the Director of the Environment, Water Resources and Sustainability Department. He is a current member of EPA’s Clean Air Act Advisory Committee.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science & Engineering degree from Arizona State University for Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on environmental studies. Prior to his tenure at APS, Eric served 18 years in various capacities and levels of leadership at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality’s Air Quality Division where he gained national recognition for his leadership in air quality, setting national precedence by obtaining EPA concurrence on 17 dust exceptional event demonstrations after EPA’s adoption of the Exceptional Events Rule, obtaining EPA approval of the plan that effectively ended 40 years of dust non-attainment in the Phoenix metropolitan area, and securing the necessary changes to EPA’s Clean Power Plan that provided Arizona with a reasonable goal and a real opportunity to make environmental improvements without also creating devastating changes to Arizona’s electricity generating infrastructure.
